Amazon Autos: Buy your Hyundai on Amazon
Last year, we reported that Amazon had announced a new partnership with Hyundai. Their long-term goal was to allow customers to purchase their Hyundai on Amazon. That goal was achieved last month – Amazon Autos has now launched in 48 U.S. cities.
What is Amazon Autos?
Amazon Autos is a new sales channel that allows customers to browse, order, finance and schedule pickup of a new Hyundai vehicle from participating dealers. Buying a Hyundai on Amazon combines the excitement of purchasing a new car with the ease of the Amazon shopping experience. The car-buying process can be long-winded and stressful. This partnership aims to provide a streamlined and transparent experience from start to finish.
Steven Sug, general sales manager of South Bay Hyundai, says, “Listing our inventory on Amazon is a game-changer for how we connect with car buyers. It allows us to showcase our vehicles to millions of daily shoppers while setting our pricing upfront. We can now reach a large local audience with the convenient and transparent experience customers expect when shopping with Amazon.”
How do I use Amazon Autos?
Vehicle shopping and purchases all happen directly within the Amazon store. Customers can search available vehicles at participating dealers by model, trim, colour, features and more. There is complete transparent pricing laid out from the get-go, inclusive of all taxes and fees so there are no surprises. Once you’ve selected a vehicle, you can secure financing, arrange a trade-in of your current vehicle, e-sign any paperwork and complete your order in a few clicks. You then select a day and time to collect your vehicle from that dealership.
What’s the future for Amazon Autos?
Hyundai is the exclusive launch partner for Amazon Autos and it’s currently available in the below U.S. states.
Although the offering is currently only Hyundai, the global head of Amazon Autos, Fan Jin, says they’ll be welcoming more brands and expanding their selection in the future. As it’s still early days, they’ll ultimately be working through the process and feedback before expansion.
